I've kinda been thinking a lot lately regarding friends, I know someone whom was my friend, I told them some things, they promised me that they wouldn't tell anyone, because I trusted them and was really upset at another friend and needed to vent about it, well maybe a week or two later the friend I was venting about comes and messages me, telling me how upset the are that I told my friend these things, some of which I probably shouldn't have told them, but was too angry to really think it over, but hey, I didn't think I really had to, as they were my friend I could trust, right? CLEARLY WRONG! It's no excuse for telling them deep secrets (though it never technically was classified as one), now here is where I'm confused, because a friend betrayed my trust I have lost a good friend, that former good friend says they don't want to stop being friends with me, but drop off all communication and interaction with me, while implying that I would have to "prove myself worthy" before they start treating me like a friend again, telling me they need time to heal, yet accepts a proven ***hole back into their lives like nothing has ever happened, while I have done nothing but go out of my way for this person, the person whom I had went out of my way for to patch wounds caused by said ***hole, I know the ***hole did it because they were jealous that the person preferred talking to me rather then them and saw a way to knock me out of the picture, I cannot help but think that "Friend" is a made up word now, two very close friends whom had appeared to be fair, honest people just turned on me faster then a rabid pit bull on an abusive owner. I, to them, have become the bad friend in their eyes, and after all that I've done for them. I'm not perfect, I make mistakes, and they probably have reasons for being upset with me, but I just don't think I could ever justifying shunning someone over one stupid act of recklessness, especially once you know what those people had been through together, but yeah, because my "friend" couldn't keep their word, this all happened. Who truly becomes the bad friend in that instance? Definitely not me, I've said I was sorry and have stressed it multiple times to them. Even though I might be in the wrong, I will never kiss anyone's *** just to rekindle a friendship that I care more about then them anyway.
